Guest house palm purchase

Ralph, a developer, who had bought a palm tree for a client some time ago, recommended Gardens For You to a couple in Fish Hoek.
They had just built a guest house and they were looking for a palm tree to finish off their pool area.
We arranged a meeting, gave them some ideas and concluded the deal.
The following day the Gardens For You team went to their home and did all the preparations for the planting.

A day later we were back on site with a crane truck and planted 2 fan palms (Washingtonia robustas). Just prior to leaving we gave them all the advice on how to water and care for the palms we had planted.

Tree removal

A young married couple emailed us about a tree that had outgrown their garden, and said that the tree was lifting the neighbours paving and had already broken the dividing wall.
The Gardens For You team went to their home the same day and removed the tree for them.

Thanks guys, we were so worried that the roots would cause cracks to the foundations of our houses. We are so glad you responded so quickly, because we realise it is the growing season and there is no knowing what damage the tree would have done! We are really chuffed, thanks again.

Lucky palm

On the 30th of January 2009 Gardens For You received a call requesting a palm tree to be removed from the front garden of a property, as the family was about to have alterations done to extend their home.
Gardens For You jumped into action!
On the 2nd of February we went to the site to dig open the tree, this took us approximately 4 hours to complete.
On the 3rd of February the crane truck arrived bright and early, and we removed the large date palm from this families front garden.
Although the builders were going to start digging trenches within a day or two, we closed up the hole we had made, raked and tidied after we had removed the palm.
The entire family was ecstatic with Gardens For You for their fast and friendly service.
This palm was relocated to another clients garden.

Bradley’s buy

We received purchase enquiry via one of our adds for a palm tree.
We gave the client a price on the telephone for the palm he wanted and he gave us the go ahead.
He immediately gave us a deposit to secure the deal.
The next day we went to his residence, dug and prepared the hole for the planting of his palm tree.
Here are some photos of his twin boys having fun on the crane truck, and with the chain saw.
PS: The palm we planted is the one on the left hand side of the picture in the background.

Fender bender

A gentleman had a palm tree which he planted from a seed approx. 20 years ago, that had grown to large for the driveway.
He said that he never realized that there would come a day he would have to remove the tree, but as he had reversed into the tree several times with his car, the time had come.

The GARDENS FOR YOU team jumped at the opportunity to help and removed the car challenging tree.
He was delighted that he would now be able to drive into his garage without his car having a sparing match with the tree.
Here are some pics of the “fender bender” that was successfully relocated and planted elsewhere – far from any vehicles I might add.

Thanks girls, I really never expected to come home and find everything so neat and tidy. You ladies are very professional and I will certainly be sending more business your way.

Linda’s palm purchase

Linda found our name (GARDENS FOR YOU) along with our number in the local paper and asked if she could purchase a palm tree.
We set up a meeting with her and went round to discuss the various options we could offer her, she informed us that she would like to purchase a date palm with a 2.5 meter stem.
We gave her a price and Linda immediately paid her deposit, which enabled us to book the crane truck to do the job.
The next morning we arrived at her property, dug the hole and put in our special feed which ensures a successful transplant.
The crane truck arrived later than expected, so we had to work into the night and plant by floodlight, however, the following day Linda had her date palm.

The following day we went back and replaced and leveled the grass to match the rest of the lawn.
All said and done, it looked as though it had been there for many years.

WOW! Great job guys, thanks, I love my new tree.

Christmas palm

Late on Friday afternoon we received a call from a client who wanted a palm tree for his holiday home in Pringle Bay which is 100kms from where we operate.
Saturday morning the GARDENS FOR YOU team went through to the site to dig and prepare the hole for the palm tree.
Monday morning at 10 am the palm tree was lifted into position with a crane and planted.
By the time he and his wife arrived at 1pm, the grass around the palm tree had been replanted and leveled in keeping with the rest of the lawn.
He and his wife where so excited, as this tree was his Christmas present from his one and only.

Palms looking for homes

A gentleman phoned the GARDENS FOR YOU offices and asked if we could remove seven Washingtonia Robusta palms (fan palms) from his garden, as both him and his wife felt they had far to many trees.

The GARDENS FOR YOU team jumped at the challenge and went to work. The team opened up around the base of the trees, the crane truck arrived and we lifted all seven trees out successfully, took them to our small holding until we find new homes for these trees.

GARDENS FOR YOU is very much in favour of saving healthy trees, so if you live in or around Cape Town and would like to purchase an established tree for your garden – send us an email.

Ralph’s great idea

Ralph, a builder and developer contacted GARDENS FOR YOU as he wanted to surprise one of his overseas clients by planting a palm tree in their front garden, prior to them seeing the house he had just finished building.

We emailed Ralph a picture of a palm tree that suited his budget, and met him on site the same day to discuss the matter further. The following day we arrived at the property, dug the hole and prepared the soil mix for the planting of a 1 meter stem Phoenix Canariensis(date palm).

When we were finished Ralph arrived on site and was very pleased with the choice of palm, and the way in which the Gardens For You team cleaned up the site when they had finished. It is always so rewarding to have a happy and appreciative client, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
